I’m in the hotel in Dublin now. It’s €89 per night for a twin room and it’s absolutely incredible value. There’s free wifi and wired internet in the room, they’re serving food downstairs at 11:40pm and there’s a cool back-projected display in the lobby that looks like a sheet of glass has an LCD display built into it.
The InterCity was really comfortable. It’s been a few years since I was on a train to Dublin and they seem to have got new trains altogether since then. I used the small T-shaped mini-jack splitter I bought last year in Georgia so I could watch Children of Men with my dad for the trip. I really love that film and wanted to watch it again so it was cool to get an excuse to do so. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. I love the sci-fi story, believability of the setting, and above all the gonzo feel to the action scenes. The action scenes are all filmed in really long shots at eye-level with the cameraman running around with the actors. It actually feels a bit like a game because of that. With all the actors shouting at each other and killing each other while the camera doesn’t break really makes you feel like you’re in there.
“Free” internet rocks. There’ve been a few things I’ve been wanting to try from here. First, from a remote internet connection I wanted to see if HamachiX would work… and it does!

The other thing that I wanted to try was, from a shared internet connection, EtherPEG but I haven’t managed to get it to pick up any images yet.
The flight’s around 11am tomorrow. I hope we can get good seats because it’s gonna be a long flight. I’ve lots the MacBook (Nanashi: 名無し – “nameless”… yeah I was lazy) loaded up with anime and films, iPod charged and full, Death Note vol 8, the Walking Dead vol 5, and Batman Year One to keep me going. And of course, Minna no Nihongo (みんなの日本語) Book 2!

I knew you were going soon – forgot it was so soon!
Just starting to read this. Good luck.
