First day

I’m in the “business centre” place in the hotel, where there’s wired internet now. Really really really long day. It’s 9am by bodyclock now, but in Japan it’s 5pm. Summary of my day:

  • More zettai ryouiki than you can shake a stick at… it’s incredible!
  • Got a Canon IXY Digital 10 Black… so photos to come. I’ll throw up anything I get onto flickr.
  • Spoke lots of Japanese with lots of people. Mainly asking for directions though. Trying to find an exit from a train station is incredibly hard.
  • Didn’t speak Japanese with a guy who came to tell my dad to stop recording a concert thing. He walked up and suddenly realised how very white we are… “日本語が話せますか?” … “No.” … “え〜と… No. No picture!” “Ok”
  • Did I mention the zettai ryouiki? This country rocks.
  • Saw Shibuya 109 while getting a rental phone there.
  • Oh yeah… I rented a phone. 250¥ per day. Plus 210¥ per day insurance. 15¥ per SMS or MMS<15kb
  • This country is clean! There’s no dirt anywhere! Even the hubcaps on buses don’t have a speck of dirt (I’m serious!). And the trains are so so clean. They seem to be packed all day long… yet not one bit of gum anywhere and I haven’t seen any graffiti.

I’m too tired to write any more or link to wikipedia so you can know what zettai ryouiki or Shibuya 109 or a Canon IXY Digital 10 is so just do it yourself!
