Tokyo Day 3

Seán left the hotel about 10am and I told him how to get to the train station. I didn’t hang around long myself and went to the station myself after an hour or so. I looked for somewhere to eat at the station but didn’t see anything particularly appetising so I decided to leave it until I got back to Okazaki. I used the journey home to get some homework out of the way and made a beeline for the nearest Japanese restaurant when I got out of the station. I ate Tororo-ko-don (とろろ小丼) which wasn’t great. It was basically blended potatoes mixed with egg poured on rice with some nori (seaweed) on top. I ate it anyway as I was hungry enough. The waitress was dressed in traditional Japanese clothes and was very friendly. When asking if I knew what 芋 (“potato”) was while explaining what the dish was, I told her that it’s the main food in Ireland so I know it well. Later she came back with a map of Europe and showed me what she found Ireland and I showed her the Shannon and where Limerick is, and where the country’s borders are.

Then I came home, and here I am, writing my blog! I’m going to help a friend with her iPod this evening so I’ve to get the apartment cleaned up. Great weekend!
