I just updated daniel.ie to a portal. I’ve added 6 locations to it, but might add more such as Facebook, Twitter, or Mixi.
It’s pretty flashy and runs best in Safari, as it supports shadows, rounded corners, and all the animations.
Firefox 3 is fine too, but doesn’t render the shadows.
I wrestled with IE for a while, and then gave up: I took a screenshot of it running in Safari, used an image map to make it clickable, and if your user agent has “MSIE” in it (sorry, Opera users), you get that. But at least IE “supports” shadows on daniel.ie
Obviously I’m going to regret this when I have to maintain it. Grr.

You’re being insanely productive lately it inspires me! Time to one shot my FYP tomorrow!
It’s kinda a personal experiment to see how long I can keep it up. I don’t do much else other than FYP stuff right now. Fortunately “FYP stuff” means I can make levels in 3DS max, code graphics, code game logic, code physics, code audio, work on the iPod< ->PC protocol, learn more about device drivers, learn more about AppKit…
Chrome doesn’t render it well
Thanks, I had forgotten about Chrome. I’ll look into it now.
Apparently Chrome doesn’t support shadows and rounded corners at the same time, even though Safari does. Fixed.
Why would google leave out concurrent support for shadows and rounded corners? Why?
I don’t know ;’(
Just redirect MSIE user agents to tubgirl. Don’t worry about Opera, no one of worth uses that anyway. Next you’ll be trying to support Netscape Navigator.
